Stephen Colbert, the Unlikely Feminist
In honor of Women's History Month, the pundit went on a rant about the beauty industry that will leave misogynists' heads spinning till April.“The Colbert Report” and “The Daily Show” may be on spring break, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss your dose of political comedy. A couple of weeks ago, in honor of Women’s History Month, Stephen Colbert went on a rant about the beauty industry that will leave misogynists’ heads spinning till April. The pundit even (briefly) earns an M.A. in women’s studies from Wellesley College for studying commercials that explain what products make women shine, laugh and feel comfortable at all times. And then, of course, there’s the “all-you-can’t-eat buffet” the corporate world serves all the while setting atrociously unreachable beauty standards that destroy self-esteem.

He's filling the seat long commanded by David Letterman, which is a gigantic deal in and of itself, but whether Colbert's version of "The Late Show" gets off the ground ultimately has to do with whether he can fly solo—on his own terms.
The French government has announced a plan to prevent housing displacement and the creation of "ghettos for the rich" in the capital; apparently, watching "The Colbert Report" made some people more conservative; meanwhile, the principles of the 1910 Mexican Revolution are being revived by the protest movement inspired by the Ayotzinapa students' disappearance.
