The latest disclosures from NSA leaker on the run Edward Snowden reveal that the National Security Agency spied on European Union offices in Brussels, Washington, D.C., and at the United Nations, as well as on more than 38 embassies and missions and European citizens. German Green Party politician and privacy advocate Malte Spitz weighs in.

Spitz took his cellphone operator, Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile’s parent company, to court to obtain confirmation that it gathered information about his activity. On Saturday, he authored a New York Times op-ed, “Germans Loved Obama. Now We Don’t Trust Him.”

Spitz appeared on “Democracy Now!” on Tuesday with WikiLeaks spokesman and Icelandic investigative journalist Kristinn Hrafnsson.
