Parody is the best policy, as evidenced by the boost that "Saturday Night Live" has recently enjoyed, thanks to Sarah Palin lookalike (and sometime comedy star) Tina Fey. We kid, but so do Fey, Queen Latifah and Jason Sudeikis -- playing Republican VP candidate Palin, PBS' Gwen Ifill and Democratic VP pick Joe Biden, respectively -- in this clip from the show's Oct. 4 episode. "Saturday Night Live" alumna Tina Fey returned once again to fulfill her comedic duty on the Sept. 27 episode of NBC's comedy show, spoofing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's one-on-one interview with CBS anchor Katie Couric earlier in the week. Fey's fellow "SNL" comedian Amy Poehler dropped her Hillary Clinton act to play Couric in this clip. Al Franken's career arc has taken an unconventional turn: The comedian has nailed down the Minnesota Democrats' endorsement for the U.S. Senate, following in former Gov. Jesse Ventura's footsteps as a performer-turned-politician in the Midwestern state. You just can't catch a break as a politician these days. Right when you think you look all "hip" and "endearingly self-deprecating" by allowing yourself to be skewered by certain late-night comedians (bonus points if you're actually on the show while this gentle, aide-approved ribbing is happening), those same wise asses up and turn on you.
