Rachel Reeves is an independent journalist who has written about everything from fisheries management to music for such publications as Hakai Magazine, New Zealand Geographic, Pacific Standard Magazine, Honolulu Civil Beat, BeachLife Magazine, Peninsula Magazine, and The Diplomat.
Rachel's book called Mātini: The Story of Cyclone Martin (2015) remains the deepest privilege of her life. After the book was published, its designer and Rachel rallied a creative team to make Lokal Magazine, a publication celebrating indigenous wisdom in the Cook Islands. Their work was supported by grants from the United Nations Global Environment Facility, UNESCO, and the Cook Islands government.
