U.S. Centcom’s Twitter Account ‘Hacked by Islamic State’
Hackers claiming to back Islamic State took control of the YouTube and Twitter accounts of the U.S. Defense Department's central command, posting threats and internal military documents.

Hackers claiming to back Islamic State took control of the YouTube and Twitter accounts of the U.S. Defense Department’s central command, posting threats and internal military documents.
The BBC reported that one message read, “American soldiers, we are coming, watch your back”:
US Centcom said it was taking “appropriate measures”. The Twitter account was later taken down so no tweets could be viewed.
The hack happened as President Barack Obama was preparing a major speech on cybersecurity.
… A unnamed Pentagon official told Reuters the hacking was an embarrassment but did not appear to be a security threat.
