At 1 p.m. PDT Thursday, Truthdig streamed a live video discussion on our Facebook page. Truthdig Editor in Chief Robert Scheer and his team were joined by special guest (and Truthdig political correspondent) Bill Boyarsky, discussing the political climate and where the presidential contest is headed.

As the Republican National Convention wraps up, extremism in the party continues to grow. Is the Republican Party a fascist-based movement? What do you think Hillary Clinton’s strategy should be to defeat Donald Trump? And although Bernie Sanders endorsed Clinton, there is still much left for the Vermont senator to accomplish. What will his legacy be? Where should Sanders supporters focus their attention? Should they rally behind a grass-roots organization, such as Black Lives Matter, or fight the big banks?
