Though “The Daily Show” was taped before Obama delivered his annual State of the Union address, Stewart found a way to comment on the speech and the commentary to follow without having heard a single word. Compiling videos of Republicans exclaiming insights such as “Communist!” and the media babbling on about “Hillary, Christie 2016” the late night show host was able to discuss future events. He also got the chance to give his take on something that had already happened Tuesday: Obama’s decision to override Congress and raise the minimum wage for those working under federal contractors. Or as the pundit called it, “the most auto-erotic form of governance.”
