Jon Stewart Is Confused by Gun Nuts’ Message at the NRA Convention

Conflation, conflation, conflation. That’s all that seems to be pouring out of right-wing politicians these days and this was never more evident than at Saturday’s National Rifle Association convention. And the scary thing is its speakers are conflating guns and violence with such disparate topics as religion and health care, not to mention politics. Perhaps the strangest, most hair-raising exclamation came from Sarah Palin (Remember her? The woman who almost became vice president of the United States of America) when she screeched that if she were in charge, waterboarding would be understood as a form of terrorist baptism.

As Jon Stewart points out, rather than try to win peaceful elections they’re simply spreading the message of “Lock and load, motherfuckers!”
