In an e-mail to supporters that was posted on the White House Web site Thursday morning, David Axelrod, a senior adviser to President Obama, charged that the effort’s critics are spreading “all sorts of lies and distortions” through “viral e-mails.” He urged supporters to help start “a chain e-mail of our own” to rebut what Obama has called “these wild misrepresentations that bear no resemblance to anything that’s actually been proposed.”
The e-mail lists eight ways that “reform provides security and stability to people with or without health insurance coverage,” eight “common myths about health insurance reform” and eight reasons that reform is needed “now.”
