Women around the country protested outside of various campaign headquarters of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Tuesday, blockading entrances, marching, and chanting in unison: “Back up, back up, we want freedom, freedom, tell the sexist GOP that we don’t need ’em, need ’em.”

The wave of protests, organized by the grassroots campaign AllofUs2016, came in response to Trump’s comments on tape bragging about sexual assault as well as the growing allegations against him, and also took on the Republican party’s general anti-women stance.

Demonstrators, many of whom were survivors of sexual assault and women of color, called on the nation to condemn Trump and the Republican party at large.

“It’s not about lewd language; it’s about promoting and condoning sexual assault,” said Cindy Wiesner, one of the action’s organizers. “It’s unforgivable. As women of all colors, we reject Donald Trump and the GOP and call on the rest of the nation to reject them too.”

“It’s not just Donald Trump. The GOP has attacked women’s bodies and access to healthcare, and used racism to divide us for decades,” noted Jodeen Olguín-Tayler, who also helped organize the nationwide protests. “As a Latina and survivor of sexual assault, I’m joining women across the country who are rejecting both Trump and the Republican party that has produced him.”

Following large morning rallies in New York and Chicago, protest actions occurred throughout the day in Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, Denver, and elsewhere.

“When women act together as a group, we can change the world. Through our speech and action, women can make a world where women are safe, immigrants are valued, and black lives matter,” argued Natalie Green, an organizer and participant.

Olguín-Tayler added: “Women, especially women of color voters, are the mobilized voting bloc that will save this country from the terrifying threat of Trump, a sexual predator, becoming President. We are putting all politicians on notice: Get ready to be held accountable to our priorities and demands.”

Under the hashtags #TrumpVSAllOfUs, #PussyGrabsBack, and #GOPHandsOffMe, activists, allies, and observers documented the day’s actions:
