Dutch designer Christian Boer is dyslexic and grew tired enough of struggling to read that he invented a new font to address the issue.

The term dyslexic itself can be misleading, as it is often applied to people with slightly different problems. One issue, as explained by the video above, is that Roman characters are very similar in appearance. The new font aims to give each character a unique shape, with a sense of gravity, so that they are more difficult to mix up.

According to Boer, by way of Slate, two universities confirm that his font is easier for dyslexics to read.
