Forty percent of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing, according to the latest AP poll. That may not seem like much, but it's up from 25 percent just before the last election and higher than Bush's mid-30s. A majority of Americans -- 56 percent -- now favor a withdrawal from Iraq, even if it leaves the country in chaos. According to the latest Newsweek poll, President Bush's approval rating has sunk so low he's in Dick Cheney territory at 31 percent, a record for the president.
