The Senate approved $72 billion more in funding for the war on May 4, bringing the total allocated to the war to $320 billion. According to the DOD, 2,405 American soldiers have died since the start of the war and at least 17,469 have been wounded. According to Iraq Body Count, a minimum of 34,711 Iraqis have been killed since the fighting began.
