One of the standout moments on night three of the Democratic National Convention — scratch that, make that the entire DNC — was former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Giffords’ inspirational appearance at the DNC comes less than two years after she was shot in the head during a deadly rampage at a constituent meet and greet in Tucson. She subsequently resigned her congressional seat to focus on her recovery.
