After Donald Trump’s over-the-top presidential announcement—imbued with racist and offensive comments—Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal needed to come out swinging, Jon Stewart said.

“Jindal, you’re going to have crank it up to 11 to top that,” the “Daily Show” host explained. “I’m thinking you ride a bald eagle down to the stadium crammed with cheering supporters where you sing your announcement in a duet with Carrie Underwood. The eagle is on sax. All while fireworks paint an American flag gun across the sky.”

Jindal’s actual announcement of his candidacy — made to his three kids while sitting at a patio table in the backyard — was far, far different. …
