“Did you fall down, hit your head and think you woke up in the 1950s?” began the Massachusetts senator’s angry address to her Republican colleagues on the Senate floor Monday in response to an attempt to defund Planned Parenthood.

Elizabeth Warren went on to list all the ways conservatives have been trying to restrict women’s access to legal health services in the past few years alone. Pointing out that it’s no coincidence that the vote on federal funds for the nonprofit was scheduled the same week as Republican candidates were preparing for their big debate on Fox News, she said, “This is an all-out effort to build support to take a woman’s right to control her own body and access to medical care she may need … this affects all of us, whatever your age, wherever you may live.”
