Slain Black Veteran’s Son Speaks Out

In mid-November 2011, Kenneth Chamberlain Sr., a 68-year-old black veteran, was shot to death after police entered his apartment in White Plains, N.Y., while responding to a false alarm from his medical pendant.
Five months after the killing, a full investigation into the incident remains to be done and the White Plains Police Department has not released the name of the officer who killed Chamberlain. Democratic New York state Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer has asked the Westchester County district attorney to conduct an investigation and present the findings to a grand jury.
“Democracy Now!” spoke about the incident with Chamberlain’s son and two attorneys representing the family. –ARK
