Handily aligning with the unleashing of The Beatles’ music into the iTunes computerverse, as well as with the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s death, Rolling Stone magazine has published heretofore unreleased portions of the slain Beatle’s final interview, which he did for the rock magazine three days before he was killed, making at least one of his statements during the interview all the more eerie. –KA

In the remarkably candid interview Lennon lashes out at fans and critics who went after him during his five-year break from music. “What they want is dead heroes, like Sid Vicious and James Dean,” Lennon says. “I’m not interested in being a dead fucking hero…so forget ’em, forget ’em.”
