Zimbabwe’s own Robert Mugabe is the unlikely star of this startlingly funny little number that its sponsoring chicken restaurant chain, Nando’s South Africa, calls “Last dictator standing.” This did not please the real-life version of the ad’s fun-loving dictator, as the fictionalized Mugabe is seen frolicking in a series of increasingly ridiculous scenarios with the likes of Moammar Gadhafi and Saddam Hussein.

Although the spot was made for a South African audience, it reached Zimbabwean televisions through satellite subscription services, leading to some serious threats from Mugabe’s supporters. The Washington Post has more on the fallout here, but the fun part is posted below. –KA
