Although it’s true that people tend to feel better about presidents the further removed they are from office, not every president is George W. Bush.

According to Gallup’s latest poll, W. has a 49 percent favorability rating, compared with 46 percent unfavorable. Two weeks after he left office, Bush’s unfavorable rating as measured by Gallup was 63 percent.

According to CNN, this is the first time in eight years that “more Americans have a favorable view of former President George W. Bush than an unfavorable view.”

It’s worth noting that this poll was conducted before news broke that the government has been sticking its nose in everyone’s deepest darkest business, something that started as one of The Decider’s famous decisions.
