Georgia Approves Guns in Schools, Churches, Courthouses — Pretty Much Everywhere

Starting July 1, there will be very few places left in the state of Georgia where you can’t legally carry a firearm.
On Wednesday, Gov. Nathan Deal signed House Bill 60, which lifts bans on firearms in schools, government buildings and even churches, if church leaders opt-in.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “A recent analysis also said it could let felons use the state’s ‘stand your ground’ rules to claim self-defense if they feel threatened.”
But wait, there’s more. Once the bill takes effect, hunters will finally be able to use silencers. Because … because crazy?
“People who follow the rules can protect themselves and their families from people who don’t follow the rules,” said the governor. He might also have said people who have previously followed the rules can now also decide to break them in a school, while legally carrying a gun.
