Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico on Sept. 20. Two months later, the island remains in crisis mode.

Many people still are without power, clean water or access to health care, medicine and food. And economists estimate that it could be more than a decade before Puerto Rico recovers from the hurricane damage.

Rosa Clemente, a community organizer and freelance journalist, has been on the ground in Puerto Rico with a team of media makers to document the recovery effort. Clemente joined Truthdig columnist Sonali Kolhatkar on “Rising Up With Sonali” to discuss what’s happening in Puerto Rico.
