During a report from the Greek island of Lesbos, news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy of Britain’s Channel 4 was shown helping refugees come ashore to safety from a rubber dinghy. They had taken a route where many boats have capsized, including that of Syrian toddler Alan Kurdi. Photographs of his lifeless body sparked an international outcry.

As Guru-Murthy described the refugees’ journey from the Middle East, several of them, young and old, tired after the long ordeal, needed his help.
