Doesn’t he know that this would leave them with no purpose? President Obama, facing a House vote Wednesday to sue him for overextending his powers in pushing the Affordable Care Act through, took some shots at his opponents.

During a speech about the economy in Kansas City, Mo., on Wednesday, Obama spoke from the podium to his Republican colleagues on Capitol Hill. “Stop being mad all the time. Stop just hatin’ all the time. … Let’s get some work done together,” he said. From NBC News:

“They have announced that they are going to sue me for taking executive actions to help people,” he said during an event in Kansas City. “They’re mad because I’m doing my job.”

Calling the vote a waste of valuable taxpayer dollars, Obama said Republicans are also taking time away from important legislation they should be addressing.

Obama added that it won’t be long before his detractors “can be mad at the next president.”
