Law enforcement agencies are scrambling to figure out who carried out the Boston Marathon blasts. So far there have been no arrests, no credible claims of responsibility and little information from authorities about who might have planted the explosive devices.

FBI agents and local police descended on a residential building in Revere, 8 miles northeast of Boston, late Monday and removed a large bag from an apartment early Tuesday. Reports suggested an apartment on the fifth floor of the 13-story Ocean Shores Tower on Ocean Avenue was being searched.

Cops questioned two male Saudi Arabian students in the building’s lobby early Tuesday. Police were seen examining the men’s passports and appeared to make phone calls before escorting them into the elevator.

Much of downtown Boston remained cordoned off early Tuesday as police continued the hunt for clues.

The impact of the explosions were felt elsewhere, with authorities implementing heightened security measures in New York and Washington DC.
