John Oliver Opens a ‘Crisis Pregnancy Center’ to Show How Deceptive They Can Legally Be (Video)
The "Last Week Tonight" host analyzes the ways that such centers often mislead women seeking an abortion.
“Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver dedicates a segment to analyzing the ways that crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) often mislead and coerce women seeking an abortion, all while staying within the law. And, in order to illustrate how easy it is for religious groups of any sort to start a CPC, Oliver resurrects his megachurch “Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption” and sets up “Our Lady of Choosing Choice,” complete with a van emblazoned with the words “Vanned Parenthood” on the vehicle.
