In a wide-ranging one-hour special, the TBS show “Full Frontal” covers everything from vulture capitalists to renewable energy and FEMA’s failures in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
In short, humorous clips, host Samantha Bee and her team investigate the American territory’s recovery efforts, which often are led by Puerto Ricans themselves, including a team of feminist volunteers who make up the nonprofit Taller Salud, and others who have trained to work as volunteer electricians to help bring power to the tens of thousands of homes that lost electricity during the recent disasters.
Bee also dedicates a segment to the Boricuas, as Puerto Ricans are called, who have been forced to leave their homes and resettle in Florida and how they could change the political landscape of the state.
