Believe it or not, Tennessee is relaxing its already liberal gun laws even more. Starting Tuesday, residents of the state will legally be able to go to bars and restaurants with loaded guns. Letting people get drunk in public places while they're packing heat = a really really smart decision.

Suspect in Unitarian Church Killings Hated Liberals

Jim David Adkisson, the suspect in Sunday's deadly shooting in a Unitarian Universalist church in Knoxville, Tenn., left a note expressing his hatred for "what he perceived to be the liberals in our country," according to Knoxville Police Chief Sterling Owen, who said the incident was being treated as a hate crime.

McCain Chastises Supporters, Again

About a day after John McCain expressed his disapproval over the insensitive comments of a supporter, the candidate was once again forced to disown ignoble behavior, this time from an official part of his party. The Tennessee Republican Party issued a press release that featured a photo of Barack Obama wearing traditional African clothing, cited his middle name (Hussein) and attempted to portray him as an anti-Semite.

Gore Isn’t Telling

Al Gore voted in Tennessee's primary, but he's not saying for whom. According to a spokeswoman, "As private citizens, neither of the Gores are releasing who they voted for." There's been much speculation over whether Bill Clinton's former vice president, in light of his known animus toward Hillary, would endorse a candidate, but we suspect that Gore enjoys life above the fray a bit too much to bother.

Survivors Sought After Deadly Storms

Court OKs Anti-Abortion License Plates

A federal appeals court allows the state of Tennessee to offer anti-abortion license plates that read, "Choose Life." The court says that although the decision to offer the plates may be ill-advised, it does not contravene the First Amendment. Of all the odd places for an abortion-rights battle to show up, state license plates has to be atop the list.
