Finally, a little good news out of Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear station -- but just a little. On Tuesday, workers struggling to contain radiation leaks and prevent further damage to the plant got a bit of a boost with the restoration of lighting in the control room.
Following Thursday's U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at halting nuclear proliferation, President Obama announced Friday that Iran has concealed a partly built second uranium enrichment plant. The Iranians admitted existence of the plant but asserted that it would be used only for peaceful purposes.
A contract worker who was apparently attempting to bring a small explosive device onto the grounds of Arizona's Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station on Friday was stopped and detained, according to the Associated Press, and officials would not let anyone enter or leave the plant after the incident.
