An investigation by Mother Jones has turned up an interesting life -- one Mary McFate, aka Mary Lou Sapone, who for years worked as a national figure in the gun-control movement and as a paid spy for the NRA. The National Rifle Association and the Second Amendment Foundation are suing the mayor and police superintendent of New Orleans because, they say, the city unconstitutionally seized some 1,000 guns during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
