Magazine Publishes Full Manning-Lamo Chat Logs

More than a year after Pfc. Bradley Manning was arrested on suspicion of passing tens of thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks, Wired magazine has released the full record of the conversations between Manning and former hacker Adrian Lamo that led to Manning's imprisonment. Previously, the logs had appeared only in redacted form, a situation that generated criticism in some quarters. (more)

FBI Steps Up Raids on Activists’ Homes

In May, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department SWAT officers broke into the home of 63-year-old Carlos Montes, a prominent anti-war activist and organizer for working class causes, and arrested him on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm. The occurrence of similar arrests suggests the FBI is staging a low-profile witch hunt. (more)

Anonymous Declares War on Orlando

The city of Orlando, Fla., home to amusement parks, fancy houses and an underachieving basketball team, has been arresting people for feeding the homeless without a permit. This got the attention of the hacker collective Anonymous, which has threatened to shut down a different Orlando-themed website every day. (more)
