Jason Epstein

Jason Epstein (August 25, 1928 – February 4, 2022) was editorial director of Random House and the first recipient of the National Book Award for Distinguished Service to American Letters. He also co-founded The New York Review of Books. He edited many well-known writers, including Norman Mailer, Vladimir Nabokov, E.L. Doctorow, Philip Roth, and Gore Vidal.
