Andrew Gumbel is a U.S. correspondent for the British newspaper The Independent and the author of "Steal This Vote: Dirty Elections and the Rotten History of Democracy in America"(2008), "Honor Bound: My Journey to Hell and Back" with Amanda Knoxand" (2012) and "Oklahoma City: What The Investigation Missed – And Why It Still Matters" (2012). His work has also appeared in the Los Angeles Times, The Nation, Mother Jones and other publications, and he wrote the award-winning "American Babylon" column for Los Angeles CityBeat, an alternative city weekly. A 2001 article demolishing the official narrative of the Oklahoma City bombing and exploring links between Timothy McVeigh and the Aryan Republican Army received the highest number of hits recorded on The Independent's Website.
