No. 1: Democrats’ Response to State of the Union: “We Will Be Showing Him the Way”
In his response to President Bush’s State of the Union address, Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., referred to the crises of division and war faced by two of history’s better Republican presidents, Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower, and then issued an ultimatum to the current occupant of the White House:
“These presidents took the right kind of action for the benefit of the American people and for the health of our relations around the world. Tonight we’re calling on this president to take similar action in both areas. If he does, we will join him. If he does not, we will be showing him the way.”
No. 2: “30 Days as a Muslim”
Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (“Super Size Me”) presents “30 Days as a Muslim.”
A conservative Christian man spends 30 days living as a Muslim with a Muslim family.

No. 5: Hagel Puts the Senate to Shame
Chuck Hagel has been on a tear lately, but it’s hard to beat this stirring indictment of the war and its enablers: “These young men and women that we put in Anbar province, in Iraq, in Baghdad are not beans. They’re real lives. And we better be damn sure we know what we’re doing, all of us, before we put 22,000 more Americans into that grinder. We better be as sure as you can be.”
