Backing calls for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to improve diversity among its nominations, actor Mark Ruffalo last week joined several Hollywood figures in criticizing this year’s Oscars process after no black actors were nominated — for the second year in a row. (The Academy has since announced diversity initiatives.)

In this Guardian video, Ruffalo says “the entire American system is rife with … white privilege racism.”
