In Stephen Colbert’s recent “Thought for Food” segment, the comedian rails at the food-stapo, aka the FDA, for proposing a ban on trans fats. But Colbert’s not the only one upset about the potential loss of this extremely harmful ingredient — Fox News, Rand Paul and The Heritage Foundation are “standing up for trans fats” too.

Colbert highlights the blatant idiocy of defending trans fats by listing all the reasons they’re harmful, and sardonically refuting them with a faux-emotional statement. For example, since trans fats have been proven to promote heart disease, one of the leading causes of deaths of adults in America, the late-night pundit proclaims “Folks, you can have my trans fats when you scrape them off of my cold dead heart.”

And on the topic of food, Colbert transitions smoothly into the disgusting McRib photo that went viral. The mysterious McDonald’s meat, allegedly photographed by a Mickey D employee, looks like it’s been puked up by a rhino and then repackaged into an ice-cold block. Talk about foodstuff that’s neither food nor stuff.
