Top 5 Things Santorum Didn’t Say About Romney in Convention Speech

Rick Santorum took aim at President Barack Obama during his speech Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention, ripping him at every chance he got. In fact, it seems he had more to say bad things to say about Obama than good things to say about Mitt Romney, his party’s presidential nominee.

That is pretty normal, considering how a few short months ago Santorum himself was a legitimate candidate to get the Republican presidential nomination.

Remember how, back then, Romney was a favorite target of the former Pennsylvania senator? It wasn’t long ago that Santorum continuously leveled some pretty harsh criticism at the GOP presidential nominee, something that is worth repeating as Republicans attempt to put on a united front and try to undo the harm done during the primaries.

So here are the top five things (in no particular order) that Santorum has said in the past about Romney that he probably really wanted to say Tuesday (but couldn’t, for obvious reasons).

That Mitt Romney is a man of zero principles:

It really has to do with what your principles and what your core is. I have a core…. And that’s a sharp contrast with Mitt Romney, who was for RomneyCare…. this is someone who doesn’t have a core. He’s been on both sides of almost every single issue in the past ten years.

That Mitt Romney can’t be trusted:

Are you going to vote for someone that says one thing one day, anything else the next day that’s necessary to win? Or are you going to vote for someone you trust?

That being a businessman doesn’t make you qualified to be president of the United States:

Running a business is not the same as being president of the United States.

That he’s on the side of Wall Street:

I heard Governor Romney here called me an economic lightweight because I wasn’t a Wall Street financier like he was. Do you really believe this country wants to elect a Wall Street financier as the president of the United States? Do you think that’s the experience that we need? Someone who’s going to take and look after as he did his friends on Wall Street and bail them out at the expense of Main Street America.

That any other Republican would have been better than Mitt Romney:

Pick any other Republican in the country. He is the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama.

Aww yes. What a walk down memory lane (aka, earlier this year) that was.
