Boy, they sure can pick ’em. When Republicans asked Rep. Charles Boustany to give the response to President Obama’s major speech tonight, they either didn’t know or didn’t care that the congressman once questioned the president’s nationality and is so patriotic he may have attempted to purchase a British title.

When asked whether he was suspicious of Obama’s citizenship, Boustany replied, “I think there are questions, we’ll have to see.” He has since retracted that statement.

As far as nobility is concerned, the congressman apparently gave a couple of phony British nobility salesmen $18,500 for a “title.” He says his wife made the mistake and that the word title refers to ownership of certain papers and books.

This is just the guy you want taking on the president of the United States. — PS
