Rachel Maddow: I Would ‘Totally Use’ John Oliver’s Dogs With Fake Paws to Re-Enact SCOTUS Arguments
On the most recent episode of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” the comedian released what MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow called Monday “an asset in our nation’s arsenal in how to cover civics.” And by “asset” she means clips of every Supreme Court justice in the Roberts court as a dog. Yes, a dog.
Needless to say, Oliver’s footage is priceless and, as is his hope, may serve to make Supreme Court oral arguments far more interesting and engaging for the average viewer, especially seeing as videotaping the arguments is currently disallowed.
Here’s the “Last Week Tonight” segment on the inspiration behind these clips, followed by the clips themselves (which, by the way, are up for grabs for anyone who wants to use them — not just media outlets).
