The new independent film “Love Is Strange” by director Ira Sachs is getting rave reviews.

The movie stars John Lithgow and Alfred Molina as a veteran couple that is finally allowed by law to marry and, after a chain reaction, is separated for the first time in 40 years.

Below, Lithgow tells Bill Moyers why it’s important to see the human face of issues such as gay marriage so often in the news.
