In yet another sweeping gesture that surely turned the stomachs of many of his opponents, President Barack Obama signed financial reform legislation on Wednesday, standing afterward with a similarly triumphant-looking Joe Biden and declaring, “These reforms represent the strongest consumer financial protections in history.” And just in case you didn’t catch that the first time, he went ahead and said it again: “In history.” –KA
