In the latest episode of Joshua Scheer’s podcast “Informed Rant,” Scheer sits down with Yves Smith, founder and editor of Naked Capitalism, one of more than 200 non-mainstream news websites portrayed as pro-Russia propagandists by a “research” group called PropOrNot, whose members have thus far insisted on remaining anonymous.
PropOrNot’s “blacklist” garnered attention after The Washington Post dignified it by uncritically promoting the group’s findings in an article by reporter Craig Timberg, Smith says.
Scheer also speaks with Zoe Carpenter, Washington editor of The Nation magazine, about the 21st Century Cures Act, a bipartisan bill that offers money for medical research in exchange for what Sen. Elizabeth Warren called “special favors for campaign donors and giveaways to the richest drug companies in the world.”
