Mitt as ‘Outsourcer-in-Chief,’ Cheaper Gas and More

Mitt Romney, Job Outsourcer:

The Obama re-election campaign wasted no time in slamming Romney after a Washington Post report revealed that Bain Capital invested in companies that outsourced jobs while under the leadership of the GOP presidential candidate. Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod said Romney would be the “outsourcer-in-chief” if elected. Romney’s jobs record at his former company has already been a target of the president’s campaign. Ryan’s VP Vet: Some breaking Romney Veep watch news! House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is the latest Republican to be vetted as a potential Mitt running mate, according to the National Review’s Robert Costa. Or rather, he is at least until someone wants to go on the record saying otherwise. (Read more)

Sheriff Arpaio’s Birther Investigation Tax Bill: Arizona taxpayers will be left to foot the bill for Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s investigation into Obama’s birth certificate after Maricopa County declined to accept a private donation to cover some of the costs. The tab run up by the controversial sheriff and his so-called “Cold Case Posse” is nearly $10,000. The county Board of Supervisors voted against accepting the donation to hold Arpaio accountable for using taxpayer funds. Considering the president released his long-form birth certificate more than a year ago, here’s guessing that was taxpayer money not well spent. (Read more)

Gas Prices Fall: Some good news for motorists: After months of being pinched at the pump, gas prices are on the decline. Prices are down about 47 cents since April. What’s more, they could fall below $3 a gallon right before the election in November. No doubt President Obama will welcome that news. (Read news)

Dick Cheney’s Daughter Marries: Mary Cheney, the openly gay daughter of the former vice president, wed her longtime partner Heather Poe on Friday. The marriage took place in Washington, D.C., where same-sex couples are allowed to marry. Cheney and Poe have two children. The Cheney family said in a statement: “Mary and Heather have been in a committed relationship for many years, and we are delighted that they were able to take advantage of the opportunity to have that relationship recognized.” (Read more)

Video of the Day: Mitt Romney has already blamed Barack Obama for a lot of the ills facing America today. And in a hilarious new parody ad from Conan O’Brien, we now know that Romney blames Obama for, well, just about everything—the bad economy, middle-class struggles, planking, Snooki’s pregnancy and the Doritos locos taco from Taco Bell, to name a few.
