Michigan Law Grads Walk Out for Gay Rights
More than 100 graduates of the University of Michigan Law School left mid-ceremony Saturday to protest commencement speaker Sen. Rob Portman’s position against gay marriage and adoption. One grad said afterward that lawyers have been essential in the fight for American civil rights and that she and her classmates felt compelled to take a leading role for LGBT rights. Nice to see this side of the legal profession, eh? — KDG
