We were reminded Sunday of the twin facts that make Truthdig possible. One, we have great writers like Chris Hedges, who can bring a capacity crowd to its feet while quoting Herman Melville. (The man is truly a great public intellectual.) We also have the best readers, listeners and donors in the business. Smart, informed and willing to pay a little bit to get in on a decent conversation.

Thanks to all of you, whether you give paper money, well wishes or just your attention, who keep us going. Thanks to the hundreds who came to see Chris speak in person on Sunday.
