Limbaugh’s Latest Inflammatory Comment and More
Obama Official Resigns:
Commerce Secretary John Bryson, who went on medical leave this month after his involvement in a couple of bizarre car accidents, resigned his post in the Obama administration late Wednesday. Bryson reportedly suffered a seizure that was tied to the crashes, one of which is still being investigated as a hit-and-run. In his resignation letter to President Obama, Bryson said the seizures “could be a distraction” to the president’s agenda. More likely though is that a hit-and-run investigation, if it continues, would be an even bigger distraction for the administration. (Read more)
A Kinder, Gentler Romney Addresses Immigration: Mitt Romney, the master of changing positions on any and all political issues, outlined a “softer” approach to immigration in a speech Thursday. The presumptive GOP presidential nominee, however, remains mum on whether he would overturn President Obama’s recently announced policy that would stop the deportation of some young undocumented immigrants. No doubt Romney is trying to win the support of Latino voters, an increasingly important voting bloc in the November election. (Read more)
Romney-Rove Super PAC Coordination? Mitt Romney and Karl Rove appear to be mocking the rules governing super PACs, which say a candidate and a political action committee cannot coordinate. The GOP presidential candidate and Rove, a super PAC co-founder, are set to appear this weekend at a retreat hosted by Romney and his campaign. The “First National Romney Victory Leadership Retreat” will supposedly be an opportunity for “strategizing and fraternizing” between the Romney campaign and those who are funding it. Perhaps the pair should catch up on old episodes of “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” where Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert clearly lay out the rules of super PAC coordination. (Read more)
Limbaugh Calls Pelosi Mayor of Planet “Stupider”: Rush Limbaugh scoffed at remarks made by Nancy Pelosi about the GOP’s investigation of Attorney General Eric Holder. The House minority leader said Republicans are purposely trying to divert Holder’s attention away from looking into voter suppression laws. Limbaugh responded to the accusation by endorsing Pelosi for mayor of a new planet called “Stupider.” Said Limbaugh: “We need a new planet. We need a new planet called Stupider, and I need to put Nancy Pelosi on it as the mayor of the whole planet, as the governor, as the evil emperor, whatever.” At least he didn’t call her a slut. Video of the Day: Richard Mourdock, the Republican Senate nominee from Indiana, is ready for the Supreme Court to announce its decision on Obama’s health care law. So ready, in fact, that his campaign accidentally posted three video responses in anticipation of the possible outcomes on YouTube. The videos have since been pulled down by the Mourdock campaign. Fortunately for us, various websites have posted their own copies of the video responses posted. Here’s one of how Mourdock will react if the Supreme Court upholds Obamacare (to see all the videos, click here).
