Hillary Clinton went for the kill against Donald Trump during a foreign policy speech this week. Her words were the focus of a discussion with Truthdig Editor in Chief Robert Scheer and the other “Left, Right & Center” panelists, including special guest Joan Walsh, editor of The Nation.

Rich Lowry of the National Review found Clinton’s speech to be one of the “most forceful and effective” she has given. Walsh, a Clinton backer, said it was well-timed, with Bernie Sanders surging in California; but she still thinks Clinton has the Democratic nomination locked up. Scheer disagreed, saying Clinton should be listening more to the progressive side of the party. If she doesn’t, he said, he fears that Clinton will move forward with a neoconservative, pro-war agenda unchecked.

“People like Bob can get some people like me to support some progressive platform planks, but not if they treat us like idiots and say we are passionate and don’t understand things,” Walsh said.

Business Insider’s Josh Barro wonders if Republican former Trump-doubters like Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio, who now have jumped on the Trump bandwagon, understand the danger of a Trump presidency.
