About that retro-’90s notion that the 2016 presidential race could come down to a Bush versus a Clinton — well, it really could happen.

On Tuesday, Jeb Bush took to Facebook (where else?) to make slightly more definitive noises about doing his part to give Americans a whiplash-inducing dose of déjà vu when they glance at their ballots on Nov. 8, 2016.

We can’t bring ourselves to type the details, so we’ll let CNN do the heavy lifting this time:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has decided to “actively explore” a presidential bid after conversations with his family over Thanksgiving, he said in a Facebook post Tuesday.

While Bush had been making steps toward a presidential bid with recent speeches in early primary states and plans to release documents from his time period as governor, the timing of Tuesday’s announcement was widely unexpected and will quicken the pace for some would-be Republican primary challengers.

In the post, Bush writes that over the holiday he “talked about the future of the nation” with his family.

According to Jeb, these family chats spurred him to the least surprising conclusion in the history of dynastic American leadership. “As a result of these conversations and thoughtful consideration of the kind of strong leadership I think America needs, I have decided to actively explore the possibility of running for president of the United States,” he vaguely asserted.

Your move, Hillary Clinton.
