Greenwald and Maher Clash Over Edward Snowden

“I agree with what he says,” host Bill Maher said to guest Glenn Greenwald in a conversation about NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden on HBO’s “Real Time” on Friday. “And then he says something totally batsh*t.”
As an example of where he disagreed with Snowden, Maher cited Snowden’s open letter to the Brazilian public, published last month. Snowden wrote that NSA surveillance efforts “were never about terrorism” but were rather about “social control, and diplomatic manipulation.”
