Green Party Candidate Jill Stein Visits ‘Moyers & Company’
As Bill Moyers explores in the latest edition of his program, third parties have a place in the American political system, despite the fact that it's dominated by Democrats and Republicans.
Now that the Democrats and Republicans have had their presidential nominating conventions, it’s time to hear from those voicing political opinions of parties besides the two major ones. With their ideology clearly outside the traditional, confined box of politics, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein and her running mate, Cheri Honkala, fit the bill perfectly, which is why they were two of the featured guests interviewed by Bill Moyers on this past weekend’s “Moyers & Company.”
Among the topics discussed were how they got politically involved. Stein is a doctor specializing in environmental health, and Honkala is a single mother who was once homeless. As they tell Moyers, their personal experiences dramatically influenced and shaped their beliefs and the causes for which they fight.
